Luca James

I've been a bit MIA on my blog this summer and especially this last month but I had a good reason! I gave birth to my little Luca James on September 20th. I decided to take some time to not be blogging and to enjoy my new life with baby (and to get adjusted to less sleep ha-ha).

The Delivery

We had a very good delivery in my opinion. I was induced at around 9 am and didn't give birth to Luca until 6:39 pm. I did opt to have an epidural which was surprisingly not painful at all. The more painful part was actually getting my IV put in. I was very fortunate with the hospital staff around me, they provided such good care to my family and I. They especially gave me a lot of emotional support and prepped me for when it was time to push. I'll never forget the moment I met my son, I was overcome with so much emotion and love. Tears flooded my face and my heart was filled with so much joy. I wanted to share just a little bit about the experience and also a few photos of my new little guy.

Newborn Photoshoot

It was so convenient that the hospital has an in house photographer that came the next morning to take his photos. Whether you plan to buy them or not, I definitely recommend just having the photos taken and then deciding if you feel like making the purchase. Your newborn will change and grow so fast so those next day photos are so special and critical to get.

One Month Old

Now Luca is already one month! Time is flying. So far he enjoys naps, swinging and eating... ALOT!

Shop

I wanted to share some of the items we used for his newborn photoshoot that we loved. Unfortunately the elephant outfit I got him from Target is already gone on their website but they do have a similar one for sale that I've linked.
